When a game is first started there are only a few basic rooms. There are a number of rooms available under different headings in the room builder screen. The doctor that talks to you will give you a good idea of things that you need to be aware of. These will all be covered later in in more detail. When you move your mouse in the to info tray a few other buttons will appear. Machines will show their strength and times used. Examples being queues for doors, where staff and patients are going. The bottom right hand tray will give you information based on what your curser is on. You’ll also get these about emergencies and epidemics. They will tell you about developments and discovery’s as well as ask you what to do about patients and opportunities to invite VIP’s to have a look around the hospital. You’ll receive regular faxes through out the game. This really comes in to its own when there is an earth quake or epidemic. Then if something happens - there’s an emergency you can’t deal with it an earthquake that blows up a room - you can go back to a previous save and fix what ever caused you issues. Save each time on a new save number and write it down on a piece of paper. Every time you do some thing, build a room, deal with a dying patient, fix machinery, buy a new doctor. I can’t stress enough to save it regularly. Click the number buttons on your keyboard to change the speed of the game quickly. Ranging from super slow at 1 to super fast at 5. You wont need any of them if you follow the hints plus cheats tend to make the game glitchy and you’ll spend hours on a level only to not be able to finish it due to the glitches. There are no cheat codes included in this guide. you don’t want group of people all milling about in the same place and if you have an epidemic - you want as few people as possible to treat or get rid of. Waiting areas area key to the design in later levels when epidemics start to occur. The patient will always take a seat closest to what they have just used. Rooms can be moved around the hospital fairly easily, more on this later.Īdding lots of drinks machines and toilets in every section of the building will help - you don’t want your sick patient trapsing half way across the hospital to use the lavatory and then taking up a bench out side the loos! This will hold up the queue to the room they are in when they are called. A well laid out hospital will help you win the levels quicker. When patients arrive, they will start their journey at the reception desk, then go to the GP’s office, to a diagnostics room, back to the GP’s office and then to a treatment room (or maybe to a different diagnostics room etc) before they are finally cured and leave the hospital. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that as soon as you get the spondoolies and cured enough patients - that will be enough to win any level! A hospital needs to be clean and have a decent enough reputation. Each level has different goals to be able to pass each level. Theme hospital is all about designing a hospital that cures enough patients, makes a lot of money and run smoothly.
